Skin clinic and facial marketing in Dubai

Where the cheap lead is the dangerous one.

AdGrow runs skin and facial campaigns for clinics and med spas in Dubai and across the UAE: HydraFacial, chemical peels, microneedling, skin boosters and membership programmes. Facials produce the cheapest patient enquiries in any clinic account, and that is precisely the problem.

A facial enquiry at AED 21 that buys one appointment and never returns is more expensive than a filler enquiry at AED 202 that starts a treatment plan. So we build these campaigns as the entry to a ladder, and we measure the ladder.

The anchor number

AED 21.
The most misleading figure in the clinic.

A facial enquiry is the cheapest thing a Dubai clinic can buy. Clinics that optimise toward it tend to get quietly poorer.

A facial or HydraFacial enquiry in Dubai costs between AED 21 and AED 54. It is the cheapest line on the board by a wide margin, roughly a quarter of what a dermal filler enquiry costs at the top of its range.

On a Dubai clinic account we manage, with AED 1M+ of Meta spend across 35 months and more than 16,000 patient leads, the blended average across every treatment is AED 62.72. Facials sit far below that. Every incentive in a standard marketing report therefore pushes a clinic to buy more facial enquiries and fewer of everything else.

Follow that incentive for a year and you arrive somewhere specific: a full diary, busy therapists, strong lead-volume reports, and a profit line that has not moved. The facial was never the product. It was supposed to be the door.

Cost per enquiry, AED. The bar is the band each treatment moves inside on live UAE clinic accounts.

TreatmentCost per leadWhat sets it
Facial & HydraFacialAED 21 – 54The cheapest enquiry a clinic can buy here, and the only one on this table that is worth very little on its own.
Laser hair removalAED 35 – 56A known price and a fast decision, which keeps the range tight and the treatment easy to package.
Botox & DysportAED 50 – 116Crowded auction, repeat habit. The cost answers to the offer wording more than to the budget.
Dermal fillerAED 66 – 202A considered purchase with real research behind it, and a small pool of patients ready in any given week.
Clear alignersAED 72 – 152The dearest enquiry here and frequently the best one, because the case behind it is worth a multiple of everything above.

Put the two ends of the table beside each other. A clear aligner case can be worth what fourteen facials are worth. Judged on one blended cost per lead, the treatment your clinic most wants to sell looks like the worst performer on the report, and the treatment that barely covers a therapist's hour looks like the winner.

This is why we hold a separate target per treatment, worked back from what each treatment is worth once the patient has been through your ladder, rather than one number for the clinic.

The method

How we run a
skin and facial account.

The campaign is the easy part. These six decide whether the cheap enquiry turns into a patient worth having.

  • Advertise the entry, build the ladder behind it. A HydraFacial is the right thing to advertise because it is low-risk, visible and fast. It is the wrong thing to sell on its own. The ladder we build behind it usually runs facial to peel to microneedling to injectables, and the clinics that earn well from skin have decided in advance what the second conversation is.
  • Make the membership the product. Skin results need repetition, which means a monthly membership is both better clinically and better commercially than a sequence of one-off bookings. It also converts the most volatile thing in a med spa, next month's diary, into something predictable. We design the tiers with you around therapist hours, not around a price that looks attractive in an ad.
  • Script the front desk for the upgrade, not the booking. The most important ninety seconds in a skin clinic is the conversation after the first facial. Most clinics use it to rebook the same treatment. A short, honest assessment of what the skin actually needs is what moves a patient up the ladder, and it has to be a script because it cannot depend on who is at the desk.
  • Report revenue per acquired patient, not cost per lead. Cost per facial enquiry will look excellent whatever you do. The number that tells you whether the account is working is what an acquired patient is worth over six months. We instrument that from the start, because a clinic cannot make this decision on data it is not collecting.
  • Keep the claims inside what a clinic may say. Skin advertising attracts restriction quickly: before-and-after imagery, implied personal attributes, and medical claims about acne or pigmentation all run into Meta's rules and separately into DHA and DoH requirements. We write to clear both on the first pass rather than appeal our way to a live ad.
  • Advertise into the appointment gap, not into empty space. A skin clinic's cheapest growth is usually the slot that went unfilled yesterday. We weight spend toward the days and hours your diary is actually thin, and pull back when your therapists are already booked, which stops the account paying premium rates to create demand you cannot deliver on. Most clinics run a flat daily budget and absorb the mismatch as a busy week followed by a quiet one.

What we build

The parts of a
skin and facial campaign.

Entry-offer campaigns with a defined next step

The facial or HydraFacial campaign that fills the diary, built alongside the decision about what the patient is offered at the end of that appointment. We will not run the first without the second.

Membership and package architecture

Two or three tiers designed around your therapist capacity and margin, with the entry treatment as the way in. Priced so that committing is obviously better value than booking ad hoc.

Condition-led search capture

People in Dubai search their problem, not your treatment menu: acne scarring, melasma, dull skin, open pores. Those searches are cheap, specific and under-contested by clinics that only run social.

Therapist and clinic-room content

Our shoot team films in your space: what a HydraFacial actually feels like, what the device does, what the therapist checks first. Skin patients are buying a room and a pair of hands, and stock imagery sells neither.

Front-desk scripts and WhatsApp follow-up

The upgrade conversation written down, plus the message sequence that reaches a patient three days after a first facial, when the result is at its most visible and the decision to continue is easiest.

Six-month patient value reporting

A cohort view that shows what patients acquired in a given month went on to spend, so the ladder is measured rather than assumed. This is the report that changes how a clinic spends.

The trap

The offer treadmill,
and how med spas get on it.

The pattern is familiar enough in Dubai to be predictable. A med spa opens, advertises a HydraFacial at an attractive price, and fills. The diary looks healthy, so the offer runs again next month. Within two quarters the clinic has a large patient list, a busy team, and a margin that cannot absorb a rent review.

Three things have happened at once. The clinic has selected for price-sensitive patients, who are the least likely to move up a ladder. It has trained its existing patients to wait for the offer, so full-price bookings decline. And it has filled its therapist hours with the lowest-margin treatment it offers, which means the capacity to deliver anything better no longer exists.

Getting off the treadmill is slower than getting on it. The sequence that works is to fix the ladder first, while the offer is still running: decide the second treatment, script the conversation, build the membership. Only then reduce the discount, because the clinic now has somewhere to put the patients it acquires.

Clinics that do it in the other order lose the volume and gain nothing, conclude that advertising has stopped working, and go back to the offer at a deeper discount. That is the loop. It is a pricing and operations problem, and no change to the campaign will solve it.

A fair warning about the first ninety days. If your clinic is currently acquiring on a deep facial discount, building the ladder will make your cost-per-lead report look worse before your revenue report looks better. We will say so at the start, and we will show you both numbers every week.

A multi-branch Dubai aesthetic clinic account we manage, carrying AED 1M+ of lifetime Meta spend over 35 months, blended at AED 62.72 per patient enquiry. Facials, laser, skin and injectables each run as their own campaign with their own target.

Running them separately is what exposed the facial problem in the first place. Pooled into one clinic number, a cheap facial enquiry and an expensive aligner enquiry average into a figure that describes neither and cannot be acted on.

One treatment, one offer, one audience, funded properly rather than sharing a pooled budget. The useful detail is not the cost, which is unremarkable for an entry treatment. It is that the campaign was built at the same time as the decision about what these patients would be offered next.

How we work with skin clinics

Honest numbers,
including the awkward ones.

What you get

  • A ladder decided before the entry campaign goes live, not after
  • Membership tiers built around your therapist hours and your margin
  • Six-month patient value reporting, so the ladder is measured
  • A front-desk upgrade script your team actually uses
  • Full ownership of the account, the footage and the patient list

What you won't get

  • A cheaper facial lead presented to you as progress
  • A deeper discount every time the diary looks thin
  • Before-and-after creative that invites a restriction on your account
  • A report that celebrates volume while the margin stays flat

Questions

What skin clinics
and med spas ask us.

Because its value is almost entirely in what comes after it. A facial enquiry at AED 21 that buys one appointment and disappears has cost you a therapist hour at your thinnest margin. A filler enquiry at AED 202 that starts a treatment plan is the better purchase. The cheap enquiry is only good if your clinic has decided what the second conversation is.

Between AED 21 and AED 54 on the account we manage, which makes it the cheapest line on the board. The blended average across every treatment on that account, over 35 months and AED 1M+ of Meta spend, is AED 62.72. If somebody quotes you a single clinic-wide cost per lead, ask which treatments are inside it.

It is a reasonable way to open a door and a poor way to run a business for two years. It selects for price-sensitive patients, trains your existing patients to wait for the next offer, and fills your therapist hours with your lowest-margin treatment. If you are going to run it, build the ladder first so the patients it brings have somewhere to go.

Revenue per acquired patient over six months, tracked by the month they were acquired. That single report changes how most clinics spend, because it separates the campaigns that bring people who stay from the campaigns that bring people who come once. You cannot build it retrospectively, so it has to be set up early.

In this order: decide the second treatment, script the upgrade conversation, build the membership, and only then reduce the discount. Clinics that cut the discount first lose the volume and gain nothing, conclude advertising has stopped working, and return to an even deeper offer. The sequence is the whole answer.

Not freely. Meta restricts before-and-after imagery and ads implying personal attributes, and DHA and DoH rules govern what a licensed facility may claim. Skin content attracts this faster than most categories. We write and shoot to clear both from the first version, which is quicker than appealing.

For skin, usually yes. Results need repetition, so a monthly commitment matches the clinical reality better than a block of sessions bought once. It also turns next month's diary from a guess into a number. The tiers have to be designed around your therapist capacity, though, or you sell commitments you cannot staff.

We map your current ladder, or build the first version of one if there is not a ladder yet. You will leave with the cost-per-enquiry band to expect for facials, the membership structure we would recommend, the upgrade script, and an honest view of what the first ninety days will look like on both reports.
