Google Ads cost

What do Google Ads cost in the UAE?
Here is what our managed accounts show.

Across the Google Ads accounts we manage, AED 1.16M+ of spend since 2020 has bought 37.6M impressions, 547K clicks and 37.5K conversions. On a live UAE store last quarter, AED 39,372 of Google spend returned AED 213,502 in conversion value from 573 conversions. What Google Ads costs you depends on the auction you are in and the margin you have, not on a national average.

Account data

What do Google Ads cost
across the accounts we manage?

This is our Google Ads manager account, read directly. It covers every Google account we have run since 2020, across e-commerce and clinics, in the UAE, the US and the UK.

Google Ads, across the accounts we manageSince 2020
Ad spend managedAED 1.16M+
Impressions37.6M
Clicks547K
Conversions37.5K

We are deliberately not dividing these totals into a blended cost per click. A single average across seven years, several industries and three countries would read like a benchmark and tell you nothing about your own auction. The figures are here so you can see the scale the rest of this page is written from.

Return

What does Google Ads spend
actually return?

Cost only means something next to what came back. Three windows, all from live accounts.

The 11.75x figure is a dated 60 day window on a rebuilt account, not a sustained average. A second store on the same playbook returned $38.3K on $6.76K in the same window, at 5.67x. We publish the window because publishing the peak as an average would be dishonest.

The market

Why is the UAE an expensive
Google Ads market?

Because a small population is served by an unusually large number of advertisers, and most of them are bidding in English on the same commercial intent in the same few postcodes.

A clinic in Jumeirah is not competing with every clinic in the country. It is competing with the clinics willing to pay for the same ten kilometres. Add a transient population that researches heavily before buying, a calendar where Ramadan and the shopping festivals reprice the auction for everyone at once, and two languages competing for the same intent, and you get a market where the click is expensive and the margin for sloppy structure is thin.

What raises your cost per clickWhat lowers it
Broad match on generic head termsExact and phrase match on terms that name what you sell
Brand and non-brand in the same campaignBrand separated, so it stops flattering the rest of the account
One campaign for every product marginCampaigns split by margin, so the bid matches what the sale is worth
A landing page that answers a different question to the adA page that answers the exact query, which raises Quality Score
Conversions passed with no value, or the wrong valueReal revenue values passed back, so bidding optimises on money
A feed with rejected or thin itemsA complete feed, which is most of Shopping and Performance Max performance

Budget

How much should a UAE business
budget for Google Ads?

Enough to buy around 30 conversions a month at your own cost per conversion, before you judge the account. That is a method, not a figure, and it is the honest answer because the figure is different for a AED 90 facial and a AED 8,000 aligner case.

Work it from your own economics. Take what a customer is worth to you, take the margin you keep, and that gives you what you can pay for a sale. Multiply by the conversion rate your site actually achieves and you have the click price you can afford. If the auction costs more than that, the answer is not a bigger budget. It is a better offer, a better page, or a different channel.

  • Separate your budget into three lines: media to Google, management, and build or feed work. Do not compare a proposal that blends them with one that does not.
  • Fix tracking before you raise spend. On accounts we take over this is almost always the first thing that moves the numbers, and it costs nothing in media.
  • Expect a 90 day read, not a 30 day one. Our own UAE store account held 4x to 5x across more than two years, and no single month told that story.
  • Judge the account on profit per order or cost per attended booking, not on cost per click. A cheaper click that converts worse is a worse account.

What you pay for

What are you paying for: media spend,
management or build?

CostWho it goes toWhat changes it
Media spendGoogleYour auction, your match types and how many conversions you need. The only line that buys traffic.
Management feeThe agency or in-house hireCampaign types, number of markets and languages, feed complexity, and reporting depth.
Build and trackingDevelopers, feed and analytics workWhether conversion tracking, enhanced conversions and the product feed already work, or have to be built.

We do not publish a management fee here. Scope between a single-market clinic on Search and a three-country store on Shopping and Performance Max is too different for one figure to be truthful. You get a number for your scope, in writing, before you commit.

The question that separates proposals: who owns the Google Ads account and the conversion data when the engagement ends. If the answer is the agency, the fee is not the real cost. Starting again is.

Channel choice

Is Google or Meta cheaper
for a UAE business?

Google is usually more expensive per click and cheaper per sale, because you are buying demand that already exists. Meta is usually cheaper per click and needs the creative to do more work, because you are creating the demand.

For a clinic, both earn their place and they do different jobs. On the Dubai clinic account we have the longest history with, Meta produced patient enquiries between AED 21 and AED 202 depending on the treatment. Google catches the patient who has already decided they want laser hair removal and is choosing where to go. Running only one of the two usually means paying more for the half of the market you kept.

Questions

What do UAE businesses ask
about Google Ads cost?

It depends entirely on your auction. What we can show you is our own: across the Google accounts we have managed since 2020, AED 1.16M+ of spend has produced 37.6M impressions, 547K clicks and 37.5K conversions. On one UAE store last quarter, AED 39,372 returned AED 213,502 in conversion value from 573 conversions. Real estate and legal keywords cost several times what a craft supplies keyword costs, so a national average would mislead you either way.

Enough to buy roughly 30 conversions a month at your own cost per conversion, which is the point where the data is worth reading. Work it from what a customer is worth and the margin you keep, rather than from a figure on an agency page. The UAE store account we hold at 4x to 5x runs on AED 18,000 to AED 20,000 a month in Google spend.

It depends on your margin, not on the number. A store keeping 70% of revenue can be profitable at 2x. A reseller on 25% margin needs better than 4x just to break even once delivery and returns are counted. We hold one UAE account at 4x to 5x and that is genuinely profitable for that store. It would not be for every store.

Most often match types that have drifted broad, brand and non-brand sharing a campaign, or a landing page that no longer answers the query the ad is bidding on. Seasonality does the rest: Ramadan and the shopping festivals reprice the auction for every advertiser at once. All but the last are structural and fixable without more budget.

No, the fee is quoted against scope. We also do not publish it on this site, because the scope between a single-market clinic on Search and a multi-country store on Shopping and Performance Max is too different for one number to be honest. Media spend, management and any build or feed work are separated in writing before you commit.

Ninety days, with tracking fixed first. A 30 day read on a new account mostly measures the learning period. Our longest-running UAE store account held 4x to 5x across more than two years, and no individual month in it would have told you that was happening.

How do you find out what
Google Ads would cost you?

Give us access to the account, or tell us what you sell and what a customer is worth. We will tell you what your clicks and conversions should cost, what budget it takes to find out, and whether the margin survives the auction you are in.
